Lorie Loeb

Founder, President and CEO

Lorie is a renowned expert in the area of information visualization--she knows how to turn complex data into meaningful visuals. As Founder and President of TellEmotion, she synthesizes computer science, art, sociology, engineering, behavioral psychology and interaction design to create a compelling story out of real-time energy use data. Lorie is a Research Associate Professor in the computer science department at Dartmouth College and Director of the digital arts minor. Before coming to Dartmouth, Lorie was Senior Research Scientist in the Computer Science Department/Computer Graphics Lab at Stanford University. Lorie is also an internationally acclaimed animator. Films she has worked on have been screened at the Museum of Modern Art NY, the NY Film Festival, the London Film Festival and the Whitney Biennial. Awards for films she animated include two Emmy awards and the Cine Golden Eagle Award. Lorie's work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Sony, Intel, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, The Neukom Foundation for Computational Science, the Morgan Family Foundation and the New York Foundation for the Arts.

James Lang

Chairman of the Board

Jim Lang serves as Chairman of the Board of TellEmotion, Inc. He is an accomplished senior executive with line and consulting leadership experience at the CEO and Board level. Jim has a demonstrated track record of rapid and dramatic improvement in the equity value of companies led or advised. He was most recently the President and Chief Operating Officer of Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA). In his two year tenure there, he doubled the size of the business and dramatically improved its profitability. Prior to CERA, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Strategic Decisions Group (SDG), where he specialized in growth strategy, organizational transformation, and performance turnarounds. He founded the firm's Boston and Houston offices and has lived in many countries around the globe. He led an initial sale, MBO, and subsequent sale of SDG. His professional experience spans the life sciences, energy, high tech, financial services and manufacturing industries. Jim is an active angel investor, with investments in healthcare, clean energy, and business services. Before joining SDG, he held planning and engineering positions at Analog Devices, Data General Corporation, and AT&T. Mr. Lang holds a BS summa cum laude in electrical and computer engineering from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA with Distinction from the Tuck School of Business, where he was named an Edward Tuck Scholar. Gary Loeb

COO, Treasurer & Institutional Sales

Gary Loeb brings a broad range of operations management and project experience to his roles at TellEmotion. During his 30-years working for and consulting with Fortune 500 companies he delivered dramatic improvements to customer satisfaction and profitability. Gary developed a unique approach that achieves sustainable business improvements through a focus on processes, systems and people. Using this holistic approach at McKesson Corp he reduced replenishment inventory by $1.7 Billion while increasing same day order fill rates to greater than 99%. Gary developed a new business unit whose purpose was creating profit from buying and holding inventory. Within two-years this new business was generating more than $200 million of profit before taxes. Gary has since used his holistic improvement approach in a consulting role to achieve similar results for companies large and small.
